Trash Panda frontman and founder Patrick Taylor (AKA Lazuli Vane) to release his most intimate album from the vault. Recorded in a barn in NC while drifting through the U.S. several years ago, Appalachian Seafoam finally sees the light of day.

Trash Panda is a band that defies easy explanation. They're an indie rock band who never seem to stay within the realm of indie rock. They're known for originating in Atlanta though they now reside in Atlantic Beach, FL. They appeared in a storm of virality and then disappeared for 4 years, only to emerge in 2022 with new music and national tours. The newest project to emerge under this moniker is a record called “Appalacian Seafoam,” recorded solely by band leader Patrick Taylor during the band's hiatus. The album was recorded in a barn in the mountains where Patrick lived for a time, and it's his most vulnerable project yet released. It sits somewhere between the tripolarity of Americana, baroque chamber pop and intimate lofi acoustic music. It's an album filled with songs both uplifting and heart-wrenching; attempting to reach toward the numinous while grappling with relationship between self and other in romance, friendship, and neighborliness. The record is filled with natural soundscapes: crickets, owls, coyotes, birdsong, the sounds of leaves falling on the barn roof. It's instrumentation changes subtly song to song and is filled with surprises. Appalachian Seafoam is an intimate glimpse into a single heart's hopes, fears, dreads, delusions and redemptions. Patrick says of the album, “I wanted to capture real emotion as it was happening. I had no expectation of necessarily making a record; I just brought a minimal amount of recording gear simply to capture emotion. And I believe I did. Several of the songs on the record were scribbled down in an intense moment and musically improvised... and those takes are the takes on the record.”
